Services to political subdivisions

(1)

Upon request, the department may enter into a formal agreement with any municipality or political subdivision of the state to furnish technical assistance to improve the system or methods of personnel administration of that municipality or political subdivision. The department shall provide such assistance within the limitations of available staff, funds, and other resources. All municipalities and political subdivisions of the state are authorized to enter into such agreements.

(2)

Technical assistance includes, but is not limited to, providing technical advice, written reports, or other information or materials that may cover such subjects as management and personnel systems, central administrative and support services, employee training, and employee productivity.

(3)

Technical assistance rendered to municipalities or political subdivisions pursuant to this section may be on a nonreimbursable basis or may be partly or wholly reimbursable based upon the extent, nature, and duration of the requested assistance; the extent of resources required; and the degree to which the assistance would be of use to other municipalities or political subdivisions of the state.
