Criminal disclosure of subpoena, order, or authorization


(1)

Any person having knowledge of a warrant, subpoena, application, order, or other authorization which has been issued or obtained pursuant to the action of an investigative or law enforcement officer as authorized by this chapter, who:With intent to obstruct, impede, or prevent an investigation, criminal prosecution, or civil, regulatory, or forfeiture action on behalf of the State of Florida or a political subdivision thereof; orWith intent to obstruct, impede, or prevent the obtaining by an investigative or law enforcement officer of the information or materials sought pursuant to such warrant, subpoena, application, order, or authorization

gives notice or attempts to give notice of the investigation, criminal prosecution, or civil, regulatory, or forfeiture action, warrant, subpoena, application, order, or other authorization to any person commits a felony of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083, s. 775.084, or s. 934.41.

(a)

With intent to obstruct, impede, or prevent an investigation, criminal prosecution, or civil, regulatory, or forfeiture action on behalf of the State of Florida or a political subdivision thereof; or

(b)

With intent to obstruct, impede, or prevent the obtaining by an investigative or law enforcement officer of the information or materials sought pursuant to such warrant, subpoena, application, order, or authorization

(2)

This section does not prevent disclosure of the existence of the warrant, subpoena, application, order, or other authorization as otherwise provided under this chapter.
