Definitions

“Department” means the Department of Commerce.(2)
“For cause” includes, but is not limited to, engaging in fraud or other criminal acts, incapacity, unfitness, neglect of duty, official incompetence and irresponsibility, misfeasance, malfeasance, nonfeasance, gross mismanagement, waste, or lack of performance.(3)
“Services and one-time payments” or “services,” when used in reference to individuals who are not receiving temporary cash assistance, means nonrecurrent, short-term benefits designed to deal with a specific crisis situation or episode of need and other services; work subsidies; supportive services such as child care and transportation; services such as counseling, case management, peer support, and child care information and referral; transitional services, job retention, job advancement, and other employment-related services; nonmedical treatment for substance abuse or mental health problems; teen pregnancy prevention; two-parent family support, including noncustodial parent employment; court-ordered supervised visitation, and responsible fatherhood services; and any other services that are reasonably calculated to further the purposes of the welfare transition program. Such terms do not include assistance as defined in federal regulations at 45 C.F.R. s. 260.31(a).(4)
“State board” means the state workforce development board established pursuant to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, Pub. L. No. 113-128, Title I, s. 101. The state board is the board of directors of CareerSource Florida, Inc., which works at the direction of the state board in consultation with the department as required by this chapter.(5)
“Welfare transition services” means those workforce services provided to current or former recipients of temporary cash assistance under chapter 414.
