Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; legislative authorization; mandatory participation in employment and training programs


(1)

Notwithstanding s. 414.45, and unless expressly required by federal law, the department must obtain specific authorization from the Legislature before seeking, applying for, accepting, or renewing any waiver of work requirements established by the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program under 7 U.S.C. s. 2015(o).

(2)

Unless prohibited by the Federal Government, the department must require a person who is receiving food assistance; who is 18 to 59 years of age, inclusive; who does not have children under the age of 18 in his or her home; who does not qualify for an exemption; and who is determined by the department to be eligible, to participate in an employment and training program.
