Active duty; licensure or qualification


(1)

If a member of the Florida National Guard or the United States Armed Forces Reserves seeking licensure or qualification for a trade, occupation, or profession is ordered into state active duty or into active duty as defined in this chapter, and his or her period of training, study, apprenticeship, or practical experience is interrupted or the start thereof is delayed, he or she is entitled to licensure or qualification under the laws covering his or her licensure or qualification at the time of entrance into active duty pursuant to subsection (2).

(2)

A board of examiners or other qualification board regulated under general law shall accept periods of training and practical experience in the Florida National Guard or the United States Armed Forces Reserves in place of the interrupted or delayed periods of training, study, apprenticeship, or practical experience if the board finds the standard and type of work or training performed in the Florida National Guard or the United States Armed Forces Reserves to be substantially the same as the standard and type required under the laws of this state.

(3)

A member of the National Guard or the United States Armed Forces Reserves must request licensure or qualification pursuant to this section by the respective board of examiners or other qualification board within 6 months after release from active duty with the Florida National Guard or the United States Armed Forces Reserves.
