Long-term care managed care program

(1)

Pursuant to s. 409.963, the agency shall administer the long-term care managed care program described in ss. 409.978-409.985, but may delegate specific duties and responsibilities for the program to the Department of Elderly Affairs and other state agencies.

(2)

The agency shall make payments for long-term care, including home and community-based services, using a managed care model. Unless otherwise specified, ss. 409.961-409.969 apply to the long-term care managed care program.

(3)

The Department of Elderly Affairs shall assist the agency to develop specifications for use in the invitation to negotiate and the model contract, determine clinical eligibility for enrollment in managed long-term care plans, monitor plan performance and measure quality of service delivery, assist clients and families to address complaints with the plans, facilitate working relationships between plans and providers serving elders and disabled adults, and perform other functions specified in a memorandum of agreement.
