Inspection, agreements, and training programs

(1)

Authorized representatives of the department have the authority to enter upon any public or private property at all reasonable times for the purpose of determining compliance with or violation of the provisions of this chapter, the rules and standards adopted hereunder, and the terms and conditions of a license or registration.

(2)

The Governor may enter into agreements with the Federal Government, other states, or interstate agencies whereby this state will perform, on a cooperative basis with the Federal Government, other states, or interstate agencies, inspections, emergency responses to radiation accidents, and other functions related to the control of radiation.

(3)

The department is authorized to institute training programs for the purpose of qualifying personnel to carry out the provisions of this chapter and may make such personnel available for participation in any program or programs of the Federal Government, other states, or interstate agencies in furtherance of the purpose of this chapter. Educational programs for the purpose of training or educating persons who possess, use, handle, transport, or service radioactive materials or radiation machines must be approved by the department.
