Acquisition of state game lands


The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, with the approval of the Governor, may acquire, in the name of the state, lands and waters suitable for the protection and propagation of game, fish, nongame birds, or fur-bearing animals, or for hunting purposes, game farms, by purchase, lease, gift or otherwise to be known as state game lands. The said commission may erect such buildings and fences as may be deemed necessary to properly maintain and protect such lands, or for propagation of game, nongame birds, freshwater fish, or fur-bearing animals. The title of land acquired by purchase, lease, gift or otherwise, shall be approved by the Department of Legal Affairs. The deed to such lands shall be deposited as are deeds to other state lands. No property acquired under this section shall be exempt from state, county, or district taxation.
